The Specialized Center for the Social & Professional Integration of People with Disabilities (Care for the Special Child), under the name "Agia Marina", was founded in 1975, in Kavala, by parents of people with disabilities and other people with an interest in people with disabilities.
It is a charitable association specifically recognized and is under the auspices of the Ministry of Health. It is housed in a privately owned building, in the area of Agios Tryfonas, in Perigiali, Kavala and has a display of its products in the city center.
It has school buses for the transportation of students.
It operates as a pedagogical and educational unit for people with mental retardation and mobility problems.
The Center is attended by people aged 6-40 years. The building houses the 2nd Special School of Kavala.
Services — Actions
Special School for children aged 6-16 with the aim of practicing the basic concepts of writing, reading, arithmetic, place, time, money, etc.
Department of Pre-Vocational Education aiming at the adaptation and preparation of students for their inclusion in the Laboratories.
Special Education and Basic Education Departments for people with severe and multiple disabilities. The two classes include 6-7 people each.
