Mental Health Centre

The Community Mental Health Center of Kavala, under the General Hospital of Kavala, is a public organization that provides services to the residents of the prefecture. It is a modern unit that aims to promote the mental health of the population, treat and restore mental disorder. It accepts people of all ages, children, adolescents, adults, the elderly regardless of insurance sector. 

The center's staff is staffed by psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, speech therapists, social workers, health visitors, occupational therapists and health caregives. 

The services provided by the Mental Health Center Information and sensitization of the residents of the Prefecture, on mental health issues aiming at prevention, especially in high-risk groups. Counseling help, psychiatric assessment and treatment, in people of all ages, using modern methods in a bio-psychosocial approach. 

Counseling support to couples or families who have psychological and relationship problems. 

Psychiatric monitoring of chronic psychiatric illnesses in the context of home visits. 

Speech evaluation and treatment of speech disorders of any etiology. Evaluation and occupational therapy intervention in people with psychomotor development disorders. 

From the therapeutic methods, special emphasis is given to psychotherapy that can be individual, marital, group or family, depending on the type of problem. The Mental Health Center of Kavala is open from Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 2 after noon.
