Peramos beach

General description

There is a blind driver just before the beach, where the sidewalk stops.

Accessibility description

The beach/swim area is properly 'connected' to pedestrian route/zone, square or PoI that has been evaluated:

The beach is properly 'connected' to nearby parking spaces/areas.

The beach area is not properly 'connected' to the nearby bus stops.

The beach is properly 'connected' to nearby accessible restrooms/changing areas.

The beach is claimed to be accessible to persons with disability (e.g., there is an appropriate sign/claim at the entrance).

The lifeguards have received special training for serving/saving persons with disability.

Inside the beach area, there are appropriate corridors/paths so that a wheelchair user or a person with mobility problems can move around freely and access all facilities, including any showers, locker rooms and the water entrance.

Sidewalks and raised platforms inside the swim area, they are not accessible to wheelchair users.

At sheltered spaces there are no appropriate provisions for wheelchair users.

The umbrellas, seats, tables and sunbeds available are user-friendly to person with motor limitations.

The are umbrellas, seats, tables and subeds reserved especially for users with disability (free space for wheelchair 0.8 X 1.3 m, etc.).

Note: The spaces reserved for users with disability are not properly marked (e.g., with the International Symbol for Access).

There is equipment specially designed for swimmers with disability made available on site (e.g., ampibious wheelchairs, etc.):

There is an automated system/mechanism installed that is designed for autonomous entrance to the water by mobility impaired visitors.

Dusters, water fountains, shower handles, etc. are at appropriate heights for wheelchair users (within a zone 90-120 cm high, and never beyond 40-135 cm).

Caution: There are some dangerous parts (e.g., high risk of falling over accidently) without appropriate handrails/fences.

Note: There are no pathways that are easily identifiable by white cane users and visitors with restricted vision, and the information signs have no Braille or other means appropriate for blind users.


Space(s)

The parking is allowed at all times.

The parking is free.

The automatic ticket dispensers are not very close and may be inaccessible to wheelchair users.

The facilities for serving the users (e.g., reception/ticket kiosks, restrooms, etc.) can be reached and accessed by a wheelchair drivers/passengers too.

The spaces reserved for vehicles of persons with disabilities are properly marked on the floor with the International Symbol for Access.

At the sheltered spaces, there is always provision for wheelchair users too (e.g., free of obstacles, at least 1.4 m wide, with enough space for standing next to the conventional seating, measuring at least 0.8 m x 1.3 m).

There is parking space for accessible vans with back or side loading (min 4.50 x 6.60m).

Bins, water fountains, etc. are at appropriate heights for wheelchair users (within a zone 90-120 cm high, and never beyond 40-135 cm).

The parking spaces where the driver's exst is at the side of the vehicles zone have close by ramps/dropped kerbs to access the sidewalk.

Note: The sidewalks do not have tactile guides for blind.

There is in general a free/safe moving route available, at least 90 cm wide.

There is not a TSGI network or any equivalent means.
