Parking in Kavala

General description

In the city centre, drivers can park their vehicles either in parking lots or in controlled parking zones.  

Below we provide information about:  

  • parking spaces, both free of charge and by lease 
  • conditions for parking in the zones 
  • the procedure for issuing a parking card for the residents of the centre 
  • violations of the Highway code 

Free parking spaces (parking) 

  • Peristeri Parking, at Verolio Stadium (Chrysostomou Izmir Street)

Parking spaces (parking) for a fee

Controlled parking zones (white & blue stripes) 

In the city centre there are controlled parking zones, where parking is allowed during the opening hours of shops with a parking card (red for 1 hour 0.50 € & blue for 2 hours 1.00 €).  

The cards can be supplied from the kiosks as well as from the Visitor Information Centre in Freedom Square. 

During the hours when the market is closed, parking in these zones is free of charge. 

CAUTION: In loading and unloading zones (yellow stripes) parking is permitted only in commercial vehicles for loading and unloading goods. 

The parking of vehicles in these zones is controlled by the Municipal Police of Kavala.

 Issuance of a Free Parking Card (permanent residents of a centre) 

For the issue of a "Free Parking Card" it is necessary to complete the relevant forms, which after being submitted to the competent department of the Municipal Police, are examined, and then the free parking card is issued in designated places. 

Submission of an objection to an infringement of the highway code  

In order to submit a Form of Objection – Objection of Fine highway code , it is sufficient to download the relevant application, complete it and submit it to the competent department of the Municipal Police where it will be evaluated by the competent committee. 

Information about paying calls for the highway code  

  • violation Electronic payment through the Website of the Municipality (requires the existence of prior financial transactions with the financial services of the Municipality, i.e. the debtor's VAT number is already registered). 
  • Payment by postal check. Necessary information to be completed: (a) Debtor's details: Name | VAT no| DOU | License plate number | Number & date of call and (b) Directorate of mailing: Municipality of Kavala, Department of Revenue, Paleologos 4, 65403 Kavala 
  • Payment with physical presence in the service (necessary body of the call and vehicle owner details: Name, Address of residence, VAT number, IOU)
