In the city centre there are controlled parking zones, where parking is allowed during the opening hours of shops with a parking card (red for 1 hour 0.50 € & blue for 2 hours 1.00 €).
The cards can be supplied from the kiosks as well as from the Visitor Information Centre in Freedom Square.
During the hours when the market is closed, parking in these zones is free of charge.
CAUTION: In loading and unloading zones (yellow stripes) parking is permitted only in commercial vehicles for loading and unloading goods.
The parking of vehicles in these zones is controlled by the Municipal Police of Kavala.
Issuance of a Free Parking Card (permanent residents of a centre)
For the issue of a "Free Parking Card" it is necessary to complete the relevant forms, which after being submitted to the competent department of the Municipal Police, are examined, and then the free parking card is issued in designated places.
